Germany’s Thermostat Price Peaks at $7.5 per Unit
Germany Thermostat Export Price in August 2022
In August 2022, the thermostat price amounted to $7.5 per unit (FOB, Germany), increasing by 2.3% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2022 to August 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.6%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2022 an increase of 17% month-to-month. The export price peaked in August 2022.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In August 2022, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($13.5 per unit), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($2.7 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Germany Thermostat Exports
In August 2022, after two months of decline, there was growth in overseas shipments of thermostats, when their volume increased by 3.3% to 6.5M units. Overall, exports, however, showed a abrupt descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2022 with an increase of 16% m-o-m. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 9.6M units. From April 2022 to August 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, thermostat exports expanded notably to $49M (IndexBox estimates) in August 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a slight slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2022 with an increase of 14% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at 58M units in March 2022; however, from April 2022 to August 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Germany Thermostat Exports by Country
China (877K units), the United States (609K units) and France (505K units) were the main destinations of thermostat exports from Germany, with a combined 30% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Poland, Italy, Mexico, Turkey, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK, Belgium, Austria and the Czech Republic, which together accounted for a further 47%.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the biggest increases were in Spain (with a CAGR of +2.5%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, the largest markets for thermostat exported from Germany were China ($5.5M), the Netherlands ($4.4M) and the United States ($3.9M), with a combined 28% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Italy, France, Spain, Poland, the UK, Belgium, Austria, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Mexico, which together accounted for a further 48%.
Spain, with a CAGR of +5.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
