Sauce and Seasoning Price in Germany Peaks at $3,549 per Ton

Germany Sauce and Seasoning Export Price in August 2022

In August 2022, the sauce and seasoning price stood at $3,549 per ton (FOB, Germany), increasing by 11% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2022 to August 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.3%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Poland ($7,838 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($2,224 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to August 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+14.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Germany Sauce and Seasoning Exports

In August 2022, the amount of sauces and seasonings exported from Germany expanded to 32K tons, picking up by 3.1% on the month before. In general, total exports indicated buoyant growth from January 2022 to August 2022: its volume increased at an average monthly rate of +5.6% over the last seven months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2022 figures, exports increased by +44.2% against June 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 when exports increased by 56% month-to-month. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 35K tons. From March 2022 to August 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, sauce and seasoning exports stood at $115M (IndexBox estimates) in August 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a prominent increase from January 2022 to August 2022: its value increased at an average monthly rate of +8.0% over the last seven months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2022 figures, exports increased by +50.6% against June 2022 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2022 when exports increased by 48% m-o-m. The exports peaked in August 2022.

Germany Sauce and Seasoning Exports by Country

France (6.9K tons) was the main destination for sauce and seasoning exports from Germany, with a 21% share of total exports. Moreover, sauce and seasoning exports to France exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Netherlands (3.3K tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Poland (2.7K tons), with an 8.5% share.

From January 2022 to August 2022, the average monthly growth rate of volume to France amounted to +9.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (+11.3% per month) and Poland (+1.8% per month).

In value terms, the largest markets for sauce and seasoning exported from Germany were Poland ($22M), France ($15M) and the Netherlands ($9.5M), with a combined 40% share of total exports.

Among the main countries of destination, Poland, with a CAGR of +16.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
