Germany continues to ramp up assembled parquet panels imports for the second year in a raw. In 2020, it boosted foreign purchases by 6% y/y to $418M. Austria, China and Poland remain the leading suppliers of assembled parquet panels to Germany.
Germany's Assembled Parquet Panel Imports
In 2020, assembled parquet panels imports into Germany amounted to 134K tonnes, increasing 3.4% on 2019 figures. In value terms, supplies expanded significantly to $418M (IndexBox estimates). That indicates Germany imports resumed a steady growth after a drop in 2017-2018, rising for the second year in a raw.
Austria (30K tonnes), China (24K tonnes) and Poland (23K tonnes) were the main suppliers of assembled parquet panels imports to Germany, together accounting for 57% of total imports. Belgium, Lithuania, Switzerland and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, accounting for a further 30%.
In value terms, Austria ($103M), China ($71M) and Poland ($56M) constituted the largest assembled parquet panels suppliers to Germany, with a combined 55% share of total imports. Lithuania, Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, comprising a further 33%.
In 2020, the average assembled parquet panels import price amounted to $3,108 per tonne, surging by 2.3% against the previous year. Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($4,273 per tonne), while the price for Poland ($2,431 per tonne) was amongst the lowest. In 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
