Mixed Juice Price in Germany Stands at $1,044 per Ton

Germany Mixed Juices Export Price in September 2022

In September 2022, the mixed juices price amounted to $1,044 per ton (FOB, Germany), approximately mirroring the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2022 when the average export price increased by 20% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,142 per ton. From July 2022 to September 2022, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($2,621 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($673 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Germany Mixed Juices Exports

In September 2022, approximately 13K tons of mixtures of fruit and vegetable juices were exported from Germany; waning by -10.3% on the previous month. The total export volume increased at an average monthly rate of +3.0% from January 2022 to September 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain months. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2022 with an increase of 58% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at 17K tons in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, mixed juices exports shrank to $14M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. The total export value increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2% from January 2022 to September 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain months. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2022 when exports increased by 39% month-to-month. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $16M. From March 2022 to September 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Germany Mixed Juices Exports by Country

France (5.8K tons) was the main destination for mixed juices exports from Germany, with a 44% share of total exports. Moreover, mixed juices exports to France exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Austria (1.2K tons), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was held by the Netherlands (1.1K tons), with an 8.4% share.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly growth rate of volume to France totaled +5.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Austria (+1.7% per month) and the Netherlands (-2.7% per month).

In value terms, France ($4.2M) remains the key foreign market for mixed juices exports from Germany, comprising 31% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($1.6M), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by Austria, with an 11% share.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly growth rate of value to France amounted to +4.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (+2.5% per month) and Austria (+2.4% per month).

Mixed juices are becoming increasingly popular in Germany as consumers become more health conscious. The price of mixed juices can vary depending on a number of factors, including the type and quality of the ingredients used, the brand, and the retailer.

Health conscious consumers are willing to pay more for premium ingredients and brands that they trust to deliver a healthy product. For example, a bottle of mixed juice made with organic fruits and vegetables will cost more than one made with conventional produce. Similarly, a well-known brand name will command a higher price than an unknown one.
