Ghee Price in Germany Grows Steadily, Reaching $8.9K per Ton
Germany Ghee Export Price per Ton in July 2022
In July 2022, the ghee price per ton amounted to $8.9K (FOB, Germany), increasing by 4.5% against the previous month. Over the last six-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +4.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 when the average export price increased by 7.7% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in July 2022.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In July 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices to Italy ($10.0K per ton) and Poland ($9.2K per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($7.3K per ton) and Denmark ($7.3K per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to July 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Germany Ghee Exports
In August 2022, shipments abroad of ghee decreased by -98.9% to 24 tons, falling for the second consecutive month after three months of growth. In general, exports saw a sharp descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2022 when exports increased by 8.8% month-to-month.
In value terms, ghee exports reduced notably to $278K (IndexBox estimates) in August 2022. Overall, exports recorded a dramatic decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2022 with an increase of 16% m-o-m.
Germany Ghee Exports by Country
Italy (333 tons), Poland (320 tons) and Belgium (245 tons) were the main destinations of ghee exports from Germany, with a combined 42% share of total exports.
From January 2022 to July 2022, the biggest increases were in Belgium (with a CAGR of +17.6%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for ghee exported from Germany were Italy ($3.3M), Poland ($3M) and the Netherlands ($2.2M), together accounting for 44% of total exports. Belgium, France, Austria, China, Slovakia and Denmark lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 44%.
Belgium, with a CAGR of +24.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
