Vegetable Puree Price in France Increases Dramatically to $4,734 per Ton

France Vegetable Puree Export Price in October 2022

In October 2022, the vegetable puree price stood at $4,734 per ton (FOB, France), surging by 51% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a strong expansion from January 2022 to October 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.6% over the last nine-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2022 figures, vegetable puree export price decreased by -25.1% against August 2022 indices. The export price peaked at $6,321 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to October 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the UK ($7,934 per ton), while the average price for exports to Niger ($1,742 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to October 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Gabon (+18.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

France Vegetable Puree Exports

Vegetable puree exports from France reduced notably to 211 tons in October 2022, falling by -48.9% compared with the month before. Overall, exports recorded a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 when exports increased by 308% month-to-month. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 413 tons, and then dropped dramatically in the following month.

In value terms, vegetable puree exports reduced sharply to $999K (IndexBox estimates) in October 2022. In general, total exports indicated a tangible increase from January 2022 to October 2022: its value increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2% over the last nine months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2022 figures, exports increased by +56.0% against August 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 with an increase of 103% month-to-month. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $1.3M, and then reduced rapidly in the following month.

France Vegetable Puree Exports by Country

Italy (46 tons), Canada (37 tons) and the UK (29 tons) were the main destinations of vegetable puree exports from France, together accounting for 53% of total exports. These countries were followed by Belgium, Niger, Congo, Cambodia, Senegal and Gabon, which together accounted for a further 33%.

From January 2022 to October 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Niger (with a CAGR of +99.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the UK ($229K), Canada ($198K) and Italy ($187K) were the largest markets for vegetable puree exported from France worldwide, with a combined 61% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Belgium, Cambodia, Congo, Niger, Senegal and Gabon, which together accounted for a further 23%.

Niger, with a CAGR of +76.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
