France's Polyamide Price Averages $7,647 per Ton, Fluctuating Wildly over 2022

France Polyamide Export Price in November 2022

In November 2022, the polyamide price amounted to $7,647 per ton (FOB, France), approximately equating the previous month. Over the last ten-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 9.8% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $7,687 per ton, leveling off in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($13,374 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($4,160 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to November 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+7.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

France Polyamide Exports

In November 2022, polyamide exports from France shrank to 8.6K tons, falling by -8.7% on October 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2022 with an increase of 25% month-to-month. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 16K tons. From April 2022 to November 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, polyamide exports contracted to $66M (IndexBox estimates) in November 2022. In general, exports saw a perceptible contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2022 with an increase of 26% against the previous month. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $95M. From April 2022 to November 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

France Polyamide Exports by Country

Germany (1.2K tons), Italy (1K tons) and Spain (891 tons) were the main destinations of polyamide exports from France, with a combined 37% share of total exports. Poland, the Czech Republic, Belgium, China, Turkey, the United States, Morocco, the Netherlands, Slovakia and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 43%.

From January 2022 to November 2022, the biggest increases were in the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +1.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.

In value terms, Germany ($10M), Italy ($6.6M) and China ($5.5M) were the largest markets for polyamide exported from France worldwide, with a combined 34% share of total exports. Poland, Spain, the United States, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Belgium, the UK, the Netherlands, Morocco and Slovakia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 42%.

In terms of the main countries of destination, the Czech Republic, with a CAGR of +3.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
