France's Linoleum Price Rises Markedly to $9.3 per Square Meter
France Linoleum Import Price in February 2023
In February 2023, the linoleum price amounted to $9.3 per square meter (CIF, France), surging by 7.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 61% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $12,058 per thousand square meters. From January 2023 to February 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($12.2 per square meter), while the price for Hungary ($7.8 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2022 to February 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

France Linoleum Imports
In February 2023, the amount of linoleum imported into France fell slightly to 157K square meters, reducing by -4.2% compared with January 2023. Overall, total imports indicated mild growth from February 2022 to February 2023: its volume increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on February 2023 figures, imports increased by +21.2% against December 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 with an increase of 37% m-o-m. Imports peaked at 241K square meters in June 2022; afterwards, it flattened through to February 2023.
In value terms, linoleum imports rose slightly to $1.5M (IndexBox estimates) in February 2023. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a perceptible increase from February 2022 to February 2023: its value increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on February 2023 figures, imports decreased by -6.2% against December 2022 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2022 with an increase of 35% month-to-month. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at 1.8M square meters in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to February 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The Netherlands (65K square meters), Belgium (41K square meters) and Italy (22K square meters) were the main suppliers of linoleum imports to France, with a combined 82% share of total imports.
From February 2022 to February 2023, the biggest increases were in Belgium (with a CAGR of +7.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the Netherlands ($599K), Belgium ($338K) and Germany ($269K) constituted the largest linoleum suppliers to France, together accounting for 82% of total imports.
Among the main suppliers, Belgium, with a CAGR of +8.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
