China's Tennis and Badminton Rackets Price Reduces Markedly to $5.8 per Unit
China Tennis and Badminton Rackets Export Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the tennis and badminton rackets price amounted to $5.8 per unit (FOB, China), which is down by -10.3% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a prominent increase from January 2022 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +7.5% over the last eight-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, tennis and badminton rackets export price decreased by -10.3% against August 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 an increase of 44% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $6.4 per unit in August 2022, and then contracted in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Spain ($18.2 per unit), while the average price for exports to Bangladesh ($1.1 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+18.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
China Tennis and Badminton Rackets Exports
In September 2022, after three months of decline, there was significant growth in overseas shipments of tennis, badminton or similar rackets, when their volume increased by 15% to 8.8M units. In general, exports, however, showed a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 when exports increased by 16% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at 15M units in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, tennis and badminton rackets exports rose modestly to $50M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Overall, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 when exports increased by 22% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at 53M units in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to September 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
China Tennis and Badminton Rackets Exports by Country
Bangladesh (2M units), the United States (1.2M units) and France (572K units) were the main destinations of tennis and badminton rackets exports from China, together accounting for 43% of total exports.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the biggest increases were in Bangladesh (with a CAGR of +62.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United States ($7.9M), France ($7.8M) and Spain ($3.8M) constituted the largest markets for tennis and badminton rackets exported from China worldwide, with a combined 39% share of total exports. Japan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Hong Kong SAR, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Netherlands, Australia and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 29%.
Among the main countries of destination, Bangladesh, with a CAGR of +46.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
