Canada Sheet Piling Import Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the sheet piling price amounted to $1,522 per ton (CIF, Canada), surging by 5% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2022 an increase of 451% against the previous month. In September 2022, China (16K tons) constituted the largest sheet piling supplier to Canada, accounting for a 78% share of total imports. Moreover, sheet piling imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Hong Kong SAR (2.1K tons), eightfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Luxembourg (1.2K tons), with a 6% share.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume from China stood at +104.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Hong Kong SAR (+3.3% per month) and Luxembourg (+41.9% per month).
In value terms, China ($21M) constituted the largest supplier of sheet piling to Canada, comprising 68% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Hong Kong SAR ($3.8M), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Luxembourg, with a 9.5% share.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value from China amounted to +74.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Hong Kong SAR (+8.1% per month) and Luxembourg (+51.5% per month).
