Plough Price in Brazil Peaks at $5,862 per Unit
Brazil Plough Export Price in December 2022
In December 2022, the plough price stood at $5,862 per unit (FOB, Brazil), surging by 67% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2022 an increase of 93% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in December 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Australia ($19,137 per unit), while the average price for exports to Uruguay ($1,570 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kenya (+91.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Brazil Plough Exports
In December 2022, overseas shipments of ploughs for agricultural purposes were finally on the rise to reach 28 units after two months of decline. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 with an increase of 277% month-to-month. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 561 units. From March 2022 to December 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, plough exports skyrocketed to $164K (IndexBox estimates) in December 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt decrease. The exports peaked at 1.1M units in February 2022; however, from March 2022 to December 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Brazil Plough Exports by Country
Bolivia (11 units) was the main destination for plough exports from Brazil, with a 39% share of total exports. Moreover, plough exports to Bolivia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Argentina (5 units), twofold. Ecuador (4 units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 14% share.
From January 2022 to December 2022, the average monthly growth rate of volume to Bolivia totaled -15.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Argentina (+5.2% per month) and Ecuador (0.0% per month).
In value terms, the largest markets for plough exported from Brazil were Australia ($57K), Bolivia ($38K) and Paraguay ($26K), with a combined 74% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia and Uruguay, which together accounted for a further 26%.
Argentina, with a CAGR of +10.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
