Brazil Optical Fiber Cables Import Price in December 2022
In December 2022, the optical fiber cables price stood at $3,082 per ton (CIF, Brazil), surging by 5.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 32% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,100 per ton. From November 2022 to December 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was China ($2,761 per ton), while the price for Hong Kong SAR stood at $2,521 per ton.
From January 2022 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hong Kong SAR (+0.4%).
Brazil Optical Fiber Cables Imports
In December 2022, purchases abroad of optical fiber cables decreased by -14.5% to 4K tons, falling for the second month in a row after four months of growth. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2022 when imports increased by 36% month-to-month. Imports peaked at 7K tons in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to December 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
