Brazil Nut Price in Brazil Skyrockets to $1,636 per Ton
Brazil Brazil Nut Export Price in August 2022
In August 2022, the brazil nut price amounted to $1,636 per ton (FOB, Brazil), growing by 39% against the previous month. In general, the export price saw prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2022 when the average export price increased by 94% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,379 per ton. From June 2022 to August 2022, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In August 2022, the country with the highest price was Tunisia ($3,813 per ton), while the average price for exports to Peru ($1,047 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bolivia (+31.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Peru (447 tons) was the main destination for brazil nut exports from Brazil, with a 64% share of total exports. Moreover, brazil nut exports to Peru exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Bolivia (120 tons), fourfold. Tunisia (78 tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 11% share.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume to Peru amounted to -5.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Bolivia (-15.5% per month) and Tunisia (+56.5% per month).
In value terms, the largest markets for brazil nut exported from Brazil were Peru ($468K), Tunisia ($297K) and China ($187K), together accounting for 84% of total exports.
Tunisia, with a CAGR of +39.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
