The U.S. is the leader in global imports of pottery, ceramics, and plumbing fixtures, accounting for a X% share (based on USD). It was followed by Germany (X%), the UK (X%), and Japan (X%). In 2015, U.S. imports on the pottery fixture market totaled X million USD, which was X million USD (X%) less than the year before.

From 2007 to 2015, U.S. pottery, ceramics, and plumbing fixture imports showed mixed dynamics. A significant drop in 2009 was followed by steady growth in the next two years, until imports leveled off through to 2013. The trend continued with a little bounce in 2014, only to slightly slip back by the end of the period. In 2011, U.S. pottery, ceramics, and plumbing fixture imports surpassed the pre-recession imports level of 2007.

Dominating the global imports structure, the U.S. remains one of the most attractive destinations for overseas suppliers.

China was the dominant supplier of pottery, ceramics, and plumbing fixtures into the U.S., with a X% share of total U.S. imports in 2015, based on USD. It was distantly followed by Mexico (X%) and Japan (X%). Mexico and Japan were fast-growing suppliers (+X% per year and +X% per year, respectively) from 2007 to 2015, while imports from China recorded a moderate +X% annual growth. From 2007 to 2015, China and Mexico strengthened their positions in the U.S. import structure by +X percentage points each, while Japan gained +X percentage points over the same period.

From 2007 to 2015, the U.S. was a net importer of pottery, ceramics, and plumbing fixtures. In 2015, U.S. pottery, ceramics, and plumbing fixture industry ran a trade deficit of X million USD, a figure that has been relatively stable over recent five years.
