Despite a dip in 2014 exports, the Netherlands continued to dominate in the global grapefruit juice trade. In 2014, the Netherlands exported 44 thousand tonnes of grapefruit juice totaling 62 million USD, 15% under the previous year. Its primary trading partner was Germany, where it supplied 31% of its total grapefruit juice exports in value terms, accounting for 64% of Germany's total imports.

From 2007 to 2014, the Netherlands was a net exporter of grapefruit juice. Over this period, exports exceeded imports in value terms or were at the same level. In physical terms exports and imports were about even.

Israel and the U.S. were among the other main global suppliers of grapefruit juice in 2014. However, the fastest growing exporters from 2007 to 2014 were Mexico (+20% per year) and the Netherlands (+7% per year). This steady growth allowed the Netherlands to strengthen its already leading position in the global export structure.

The Netherlands' top 5 trading partners in 2014 were Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Spain, with a combined 85% share of the Netherlands' grapefruit juice exports. The share of France increased significantly (+18 percentage points), while the share of Germany illustrated negative dynamics (-9 percentage points).
