Germany is the Runner-Up in EU Bus Tyres Production and Trade

From 2007 to 2014, EU production of tyres for buses or lorries showed negative dynamics, except for the rise of 2010 and 2011. It fell from 58.7 million units in 2007 to 41.4 million units in 2014, dropping with a CAGR of 4.9% over the period under review. In value terms, EU tyre production decreased to 4,621 million EUR in 2014, falling by 2.0% annually.

Portugal showed the largest production of bus tyres in absolute volumes, with 16.4 million units, followed distantly by Germany (3.3 million units), Romania (3.3 million units) and Poland (3.0 million units).

Positive dynamics among the main producing countries from 2007 to 2014 were recorded in Romania (+27.5% per year), while for the other three EU leaders (Portugal, Germany and Poland) the paces of growth were more modest or negative.

Germany is the runner-up in EU bus tyre production and trade. In 2014, Germany exported the lion's share of its total output. Of this amount, 15% was supplied to France, where German tyres for buses or lorries held a 20% share of total France's imports.
