Synthetic Yarn Exports

Exports

In 2023, the amount of yarn of synthetic or artificial staple fibers exported worldwide reduced to X tons, with a decrease of X% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the global exports hit record highs at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2023, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, synthetic yarn exports declined to $X in 2023. In general, exports showed a mild decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The global exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

China was the key exporting country with an export of about X tons, which amounted to X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Indonesia (X tons), India (X tons), the United States (X tons), Vietnam (X tons) and Turkey (X tons), together comprising a X% share of total exports. Thailand (X tons) held a little share of total exports.

China was also the fastest-growing in terms of the yarn of synthetic or artificial staple fibers exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. The United States, Turkey and India experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Indonesia (X%), Vietnam (X%) and Thailand (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Global imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, synthetic yarn imports dropped to $X in 2023. Overall, imports showed a slight decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, global imports hit record highs at $X in 2022, and then contracted in the following year.

In 2023, Bangladesh (X tons), India (X tons), Brazil (X tons) and Honduras (X tons) represented the key importer of yarn of synthetic or artificial staple fibers in the world, constituting X% of total import. Turkey (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by South Korea (X%).
