Exports from Iran increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Turkey (X%) and Jordan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Turkey emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. Saudi Arabia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Syrian Arab Republic (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Turkey (X p.p.), Iran (X p.p.) and Jordan (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Saudi Arabia and Syrian Arab Republic saw its share reduced by X% and X% from 2012 to 2023, respectively.

In value terms, Iran ($X) remains the largest cabbage supplier in the Middle East, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkey ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with an X% share.

In 2023, cabbage imports in the Middle East expanded notably to X tons, with an increase of X% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, cabbage imports expanded remarkably to $X in 2023. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by X%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Qatar (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Kuwait (X tons) represented roughly X% of total imports in 2023. It was distantly followed by Lebanon (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Bahrain (X tons), together committing a X% share of total imports. Syrian Arab Republic (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.
