The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

The biggest shipments were from Cote d'Ivoire (X cubic meters) and Ghana (X cubic meters), together reaching X% of total export.

In 2023, the amount of plywood imported in ECOWAS rose modestly to X cubic meters, growing by X% against 2022 figures. Total imports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2023: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, imports decreased by X% against 2021 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X cubic meters. From 2022 to 2023, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

The purchases of the three major importers of plywood, namely Senegal, Ghana and Niger, represented more than half of total import. Burkina Faso (X cubic meters) took the next position in the ranking, followed by Mali (X cubic meters), Benin (X cubic meters) and Togo (X cubic meters). All these countries together held approx. X% share of total imports. Guinea (X cubic meters) held a minor share of total imports.
