Wood Pellets Exports

Exports in Africa

Wood pellets exports soared to X tons in 2022, growing by X% compared with the previous year. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, wood pellets exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The biggest shipments were from Egypt (X tons), Morocco (X tons) and Tunisia (X tons), together resulting at X% of total export. South Africa (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Ghana (X%) and Nigeria (X%). Rwanda (X tons) took a relatively small share of total exports.
