In value terms, the largest gloves importing markets in Africa were South Africa ($X), Egypt ($X) and Angola ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports. Botswana, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Senegal, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

The level of import peaked at $X per pair in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2023, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per pair), while Tanzania ($X per pair) was amongst the lowest.
