Wood-Based Panels Price in Poland (FOB) - 2022
The average wood-based panels export price stood at $577 per cubic meter in 2022, increasing by 20% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 22%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($807 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($466 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+7.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wood-Based Panels Price in Poland (CIF) - 2022
The average wood-based panels import price stood at $441 per cubic meter in 2022, picking up by 23% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated noticeable growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, wood-based panels import price increased by +48.1% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 24%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($779 per cubic meter), while the price for Slovakia ($250 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Romania (+7.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wood-Based Panels Exports in Poland
After three years of growth, shipments abroad of wood-based panels decreased by -12% to 3M cubic meters in 2022. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 13%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 3.5M cubic meters, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, wood-based panels exports expanded significantly to $1.8B in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +19.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +71.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 38%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Wood-Based Panels Imports in Poland
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of wood-based panels, when their volume decreased by -27.4% to 2.8M cubic meters. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 19% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 3.8M cubic meters, and then fell sharply in the following year.
In value terms, wood-based panels imports dropped to $1.2B in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.8% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +63.6% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 47%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $1.4B, and then declined in the following year.
