Whole Fresh Milk Price in India (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average whole fresh milk export price amounted to $774 per ton, remaining stable against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in September 2022 when the average export price increased by 14% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $852 per ton in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In July 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Nepal ($1,023 per ton) and the United Arab Emirates ($950 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bhutan ($712 per ton) and Singapore ($873 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Nepal (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average whole fresh milk import price stood at $1,387 per ton in 2022, growing by 3.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated noticeable growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, whole fresh milk import price increased by +58.9% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 35%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Denmark.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Ireland amounted to +5.7% per year.
