The average unlaminated plastics film import price stood at $4,396 per ton in August 2023, growing by 1.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 3.9% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $4,766 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($10,415 per ton), while the price for Oman ($1,886 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Unlaminated Plastics Film Price in the United States (FOB) - 2023
The average unlaminated plastics film export price stood at $9,047 per ton in August 2023, surging by 6.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($32,121 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($1,082 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
