Toy Price in Tanzania (CIF) - 2022

The average toy import price stood at $5,328 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -10.9% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +8.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 62%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $5,980 per ton in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($6,970 per ton), while the price for Indonesia ($419 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+9.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Toy Price in Tanzania (FOB) - 2022

The average toy export price stood at $1,190 per ton in 2022, reducing by -31.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 78%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $6,357 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Comoros ($3,127 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($335 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Africa (+11.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Toy Imports in Tanzania

In 2022, toy imports into Tanzania shrank significantly to 558 tons, reducing by -78.8% against the year before. Overall, imports recorded a precipitous setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 61% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 2.6K tons, and then contracted markedly in the following year.

In value terms, toy imports plummeted to $3M in 2022. In general, imports faced a precipitous descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 72%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $16M, and then contracted markedly in the following year.

Toy Exports in Tanzania

Toy exports from Tanzania was estimated at 11 tons in 2022, therefore, remained relatively stable against 2021. In general, exports, however, saw a precipitous decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 234% against the previous year.
