Sweet Potato Price in Sweden (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average sweet potato import price amounted to $1,658 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 21% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $1,780 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($2,409 per ton), while the price for the United States ($1,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (+11.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sweet Potato Price in Sweden (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average sweet potato export price amounted to $3,425 per ton, jumping by 25% against the previous year. In general, the export price posted a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average export price increased by 101%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Finland ($4,032 per ton), while the average price for exports to Denmark ($1,770 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Finland (+15.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Sweet potato imports into Sweden shrank slightly to 4.7K tons in 2022, dropping by -4.3% compared with 2021. Overall, imports recorded a slight setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 5.3% against the previous year.
