Sulphite Wood Pulp Price in Switzerland (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average sulphite wood pulp import price amounted to $2,215 per ton, falling by -26.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a mild expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 51% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $3,491 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Germany.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Germany amounted to +1.0% per month.
Sulphite Wood Pulp Price in Switzerland (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average sulphite wood pulp export price amounted to $5,867 per ton, growing by 9% against the previous year. In general, the export price posted a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 96%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $9,164 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
