Radio Receiver Price in the United States (CIF) - 2023
The average radio receiver import price stood at $92.0 per unit in September 2023, falling by -4.5% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 17% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $112 per unit in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($435 per unit), while the price for China ($19.9 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Radio Receiver Price in the United States (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average radio receiver export price amounted to $256 per unit, picking up by 4.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed pronounced growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 52% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $341 per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($340 per unit), while the average price for exports to Australia ($136 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mexico (+7.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Radio Receiver Imports in the United States
For the fourth consecutive year, the United States recorded growth in purchases abroad of radio receivers, which increased by 1.9% to 46M units in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 16%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, radio receiver imports expanded sharply to $3.7B in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
