The average winding wire of copper import price stood at $4,419 per ton in 2022, declining by -11.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 18%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $7,945 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($17,829 per ton), while the price for India ($3,299 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Imports of Winding Wire of Copper in Qatar
For the fourth year in a row, Qatar recorded growth in supplies from abroad of winding wire of coppers, which increased by 25% to 928 tons in 2022. In general, imports showed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 30%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
