The average import price for sugar confectionery; (excluding chewing gum, including white chocolate), not containing cocoa stood at $5,162 per ton in November 2023, waning by -3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 11% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $5,594 per ton. From June 2023 to November 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($9,522 per ton), while the price for Brazil ($1,731 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($6,736 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($2,563 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Fiji (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
