The average export price for steel, alloy stood at $973 per ton in November 2023, reducing by -4.5% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 17% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $1,114 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,113 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($612 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average import price for steel, alloy stood at $881 per ton in November 2023, stabilizing at the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 an increase of 15% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,061 per ton. From August 2023 to November 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the UK.
From January 2023 to November 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for France amounted to +9.4% per month.
