The average import price for raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries stood at $18,174 per ton in 2022, surging by 72% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a temperate increase. The import price peaked at $19,332 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for New Zealand.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for New Zealand amounted to +4.6% per year.

In September 2023, the average export price for raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries amounted to $16,574 per ton, with a decrease of -28.3% against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a noticeable curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 50% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $39,783 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to September 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In September 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Hong Kong SAR ($18,574 per ton) and Malaysia ($18,138 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($12,676 per ton) and Singapore ($14,645 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (-3.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports of Raspberry, Blackberry, Blueberry, and Cranberry in Australia

After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries decreased by -51% to 1.2K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 55% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 2.5K tons, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

In value terms, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry imports dropped rapidly to $22M in 2022. In general, imports recorded a noticeable decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 4.5% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $26M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
