In 2022, the average import price for nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds amounted to $6,305 per ton, flattening at the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 28%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $11,137 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($8,590 per ton), while the price for Tunisia ($1,756 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Imports of nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds into Libya stood at 7.2K tons in 2022, growing by 3.1% on the previous year. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 115%. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, imports of nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds rose to $45M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +12.1% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +84.3% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 77% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
