Price for Natural Rubber and Gum in Libya (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average natural rubber and gum import price amounted to $4,926 per ton, rising by 13% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a perceptible increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 54%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,922 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($35,559 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($421 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+26.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Natural Rubber and Gum in Libya
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of natural rubber and gums, when their volume decreased by -5.5% to 7.1 tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 12%.
