In December 2022, the average import price for meat of bovine animals; fresh or chilled amounted to $6,729 per ton, approximately reflecting the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2022 an increase of 5.1% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $8,178 per ton in December 2021; however, from January 2022 to December 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($10,624 per ton), while the price for Sudan ($5,388 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+7.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
