In October 2023, the average export price for liquid margarine and edible mixtures of animal or vegetable fats amounted to $2,132 per ton, picking up by 3.2% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, saw a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 3.3% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,636 per ton. From January 2023 to October 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($2,733 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($1,395 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Israel (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average import price for liquid margarine and edible mixtures of animal or vegetable fats stood at $3,605 per ton in 2022, reducing by -5.7% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a notable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for liquid margarine and edible mixtures of animal or vegetable fats increased by +59.9% against 2014 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average import price increased by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $3,821 per ton in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.
