Price for Iron Ore and Concentrate, Non-Agglomerated in Brazil (FOB) - 2023
The average export price for iron ores and concentrates, non-agglomerated stood at $71.3 per ton in July 2023, with an increase of 7.4% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a mild downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 17% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $83.8 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Bahrain ($97.0 per ton), while the average price for exports to Uruguay ($61.0 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uruguay (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average import price for iron ores and concentrates, non-agglomerated amounted to $75 per ton, surging by 14% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, faced a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average import price increased by 1,080% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $677 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Bolivia ($77 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($56 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bolivia (+17.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
