The average fruit, edible; durians, fresh import price stood at $3,499 per ton in 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Overall, the import price posted a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average import price increased by 42%. The import price peaked at $4,437 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Sri Lanka ($5,070 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($2,064 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+19.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of fruit, edible; durians, freshes, when their volume increased by 233% to 5.4 tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a dramatic curtailment.
