In October 2023, the average export price for frozen carcasses and half-carcasses of bovine meat amounted to $5,119 per ton, surging by 31% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated temperate growth from October 2022 to October 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.8% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2023 figures, export price for frozen carcasses and half-carcasses of bovine meat increased by +31.2% against September 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 74% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $5,324 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to October 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Portugal ($6,283 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($4,631 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Portugal (+12.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price peaked at $5,497 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
