In February 2024, the average import price for copper; refined and copper alloys, unwroughts amounted to $8,263 per ton, falling by -2% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2023 an increase of 3.1% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $8,993 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to February 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In February 2024, the country with the highest price was Peru ($8,532 per ton), while the price for Chile stood at $8,210 per ton.

From February 2023 to February 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Peru (-0.5%).

In 2022, the average export price for copper; refined and copper alloys, unwroughts amounted to $8,073 per ton, declining by -9.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 69% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $8,904 per ton, and then dropped in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($17,632 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($7,025 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+17.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
