Price for Cereal Groats; Meal and Pellets in Russia (FOB) - 2022
The average export price for cereal groats; meal and pelletses stood at $475 per ton in January 2022, reducing by -6.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in September 2021 an increase of 16% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $557 per ton in November 2021; however, from December 2021 to January 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was Armenia ($826 per ton), while the average price for exports to Tajikistan ($306 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mongolia (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for cereal groats; meal and pelletses stood at $468 per ton in January 2022, declining by -16.5% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2021 to January 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.9%. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2021 when the average import price increased by 26% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $560 per ton in December 2021, and then fell significantly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($1,133 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($226 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Cereal Groats; Meal and Pellets in Russia
After two years of decline, shipments abroad of cereal groats; meal and pelletses increased by 1.7% to 37K tons in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a noticeable descent.
In value terms, cereal groats; meal and pellets exports shrank slightly to $18M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern.
