The average import price for candies, sweets, and nonchocolate confectionery stood at $3,346 per ton in 2022, reducing by -5.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 11%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $3,760 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($7,328 per ton), while the price for Spain ($2,121 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
