The average import price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds stood at $291 per ton in October 2023, declining by -74.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 50% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $1,351 per ton in August 2023; however, from September 2023 to October 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Serbia ($320 per ton), while the price for Bosnia and Herzegovina ($238 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovenia (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds amounted to $1,695 per ton, rising by 44% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated strong growth from October 2022 to October 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +7.0% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2023 figures, export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds increased by +116.5% against April 2023 indices. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Montenegro ($1,791 per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($1,051 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bosnia and Herzegovina (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, imports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds into Croatia expanded slightly to 14K tons, increasing by 2.2% on the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 42% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, imports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds declined slightly to $11M in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 23%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $12M, and then contracted modestly in the following year.

The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +12.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 17%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
In value terms, exports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds expanded markedly to $2.5M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a significant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +21.8% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +80.7% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 36% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
