The average books, brochures and leaflets import price stood at $7,274 per ton in June 2023, picking up by 7.7% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 20% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $7,463 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($20,189 per ton), while the price for Sweden ($1,802 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average books, brochures and leaflets export price amounted to $17,298 per ton, approximately mirroring the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average export price increased by 40% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $18,159 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($25,125 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($11,301 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+4.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 13% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +9.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 29% against the previous year.
