In August 2023, the average import price for anise, badian, fennel and coriander amounted to $2,769 per ton, standing approximately at the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 8.8% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,119 per ton. From May 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($3,730 per ton), while the price for Austria ($1,637 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Finland (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $6,561 per ton. From October 2022 to August 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Trinidad and Tobago ($3,765 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Dominican Republic ($1,818 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Jamaica (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
