The average import price for alkali metals; other than sodia stood at $4,444 per ton in 2022, declining by -19.2% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The export price peaked at $7,971 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($8,811 per ton), while the average price for exports to Papua New Guinea stood at $2,099 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+31.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Alkali Metals; Other than Sodium in Malaysia
