Melon Price in Croatia (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average melon import price amounted to $944 per ton, reducing by -24% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 53% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,907 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,386 per ton), while the price for Bosnia and Herzegovina ($617 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Melon Price in Croatia (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average melon export price amounted to $992 per ton, dropping by -46.1% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a modest expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 68% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $1,908 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Slovenia ($1,143 per ton), while the average price for exports to Sweden ($584 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovenia (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
