Maize Bran Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2022
The average maize bran import price stood at $205 per ton in 2022, falling by -22.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a mild curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $269 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($227 per ton), while the price for Ukraine amounted to $163 per ton.

The average maize bran export price stood at $203 per ton in July 2023, waning by -6.5% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 96% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $298 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Syrian Arab Republic ($214 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cyprus stood at $74.0 per ton.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Syrian Arab Republic (-2.3%).
Maize Bran Imports in Turkey
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of maize bran decreased by -92.7% to 19K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a significant decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 81% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 257K tons, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.
