Moreover, Tunisia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +30.3% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Taiwan (Chinese) (-3.0%), Ukraine (-6.0%), Argentina (-6.0%), South Korea (-8.9%) and the United Arab Emirates (-10.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Belarus (+50 p.p.), Tunisia (+12 p.p.), South Korea (+8.8 p.p.), Taiwan (Chinese) (+5.7 p.p.), Lebanon (+2.9 p.p.), Ukraine (+2.3 p.p.) and Argentina (+2 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Belarus ($18M) remains the largest illuminated sign supplier worldwide, comprising 40% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was held by South Korea ($7.8M), with a 17% share of global exports. It was followed by Tunisia, with a 10% share.

In Belarus, illuminated sign exports expanded at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: South Korea (-11.0% per year) and Tunisia (+25.8% per year).

Export Prices By Country

In 2022, the average illuminated sign export price amounted to $13,060 per ton, declining by -31.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a slight reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 22%.
