Ice Cream Price in Kenya (FOB) - 2022
The average ice cream export price stood at $3,499 per ton in 2022, dropping by -2.3% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 12%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,581 per ton in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Tanzania ($4,009 per ton) and Rwanda ($3,761 per ton), while the average price for exports to Sudan ($2,938 per ton) and Uganda ($3,342 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Tanzania (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average ice cream import price amounted to $4,283 per ton, reducing by -6.8% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.4%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 16% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $4,597 per ton in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($8,443 per ton), while the price for Tanzania ($2,613 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+14.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
